Welcome to my Home Page. Since childhood I have loved plants, patterns, and poetry. As an undergraduate, my favorite class was Botany 101, and as a teacher, I especially enjoyed teaching students about plant families and tree/leaf identification.

We travel in the light
That others shed for us.
Drawn to them, we listen and we learn.
Whose years number fewer than our own,
We taste again what it is
to be fresh, fearless, and free.
Whose years eclipse our count, we glimpse ourselves
Striding the far shore
Safe above the breakers,
Shedding Light

Plants are a large part of my life and a
favorite pastime. Whether I'm gardening or hiking along a trail through the woods, there's often a poem hidden
in the experience. Click here for

you will learn something new!
